We got a bonus warm day here in St. Louis, with sunshine and temperatures in the 60s. I took advantage of it to prep and prime the seat frames for my Bede BD-4C airplane. It made a busy afternoon, sandblasting then wiping clean with acetone and then finally spraying primer. All of the pieces are done, though, so I don’t have to worry about finding another day when I can both prep and prime, all within a couple of hours.
About a week ago, I painted the shoulder belt anchors and the rear seat belt anchors. That involved both primer and gloss black paint. Since the seat frames will be inside the upholstery, I probably won’t bother with black paint.

LOOKS NICE ART.
I AM OVERHAULING MY LYCOMING O-360A1A AND HAVE GOOD USED LYCOMING FIRST-RUN CYLINDERS WITH ABOUT 1700 HOURS ON THEM.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUILD AN ENGINE, THESE COULD BE READY TO USE WITH ONLY HONING AND RINGS. WILL SELL FOR $250 EACH. NEW ONES ARE $1265 EACH. LET ME KNOW PRETTY SOON, THOUGH.

Art,
Unless your primer is a sealer I would still paint the frames. You could have rust issues creep in if the tubing isn’t top coated. It doesn’t need to be a Chip Foose show car finish, but the paint does provide protection.

Thanks. You’re the second person to point this out. I will add black paint on top of the primer.
