Last night was good for HUGE GRINS when I got to sit in the pilot’s seat of my Bede BD-4C airplane for the first time. 😀 I temporarily mounted the seat with C-clamps, temporarily sewed some furniture webbing onto the seat frame, temporarily added a couple of throw pillows, clambered aboard, and sprouted a permanent ear-to-ear grin! Here I am
Here is a photo of the seat, in position. It is way too tall; I will be cutting 4 inches out of the front legs and 5 inches out of the back legs.
Finally, here are a pair of photos of the seat track support, starting to come together. You can see two of the four pieces of square tubing, held in place on top of the main landing gear box with the orange-tipped clamps on the right (toward the rear of the aircraft). The blue clamps on the left are holding the tube which will run across the fuselage, underneath the fronts of the square tubes. (If you click on any photo, you will see an enlarged version.)
And a massive thank-you to Candy for doing the yeoman’s share of the sewing and helping with the photography.

No windshield to get that spittle on while making the “airplane” noise on that first sit in! looks great. The 4 and 5 inch lowering should be good.

Looks good Art!
