The door on the right side of my Bede BD-4C airplane is ready to go to the welder. I had to fabricate two aluminum blocks for the hinges. These will bolt to the fuselage. Then I had to fabricate matching steel parts and weld them to the door frame.
Here is a photo of the blocks clamped to the fuselage, with the matching steel parts temporarily in place.) The long rod is just a prop to hold the pieces in alignment. The door will actually be held on to the airplane with AN934 clevis pins.) Click on the photo to see it larger.
Here is the finished door frame.
And here is the door in the fuselage.
When the door comes back from the welder, I can install the latch, skin, and window. I will also taper the aluminum blocks and bolt them to the fuselage.
