I finished the aileron cables for my BD-4C airplane at the end of November. Life gets a little hectic this time of year (as you may have noticed) so I am just posting the photos now. Sorry about that. Which reminds me; I have an open position for a blogger/documenter to do a more timely job of getting these postings posted. It is an “unpaid internship,” of course. 😉
The aileron cables in the BD-4C run in a large square around the bottom of the cabin area. The control sticks form most of the front of the square. There are bell cranks near the back corners of the square which translate the horizontal motion of the cables into up-down motion which will operate push-pull tubes running up to the wing roots. Pictures will make more sense than words so here are the pictures. Click on any photo to see it larger.

Great blog Art. When do you get the time to do all this? I have trouble finding time to eat lunch. It’s been years now since I even took a couple of touch and goes.
Looking forward to reading more about the project. I’ll take a vicarious shake down flight when you get it done.
