Kudos to two Register readers who discovered that Microsoft’s new Virtual Earth shows an empty field where Apple headquarters should be. Here is the article: Microsoft’s Earth deletes Apple HQ and here are two aerial views so you can see what is really there and what Microsoft wants you to see:
May I see some IQ please? Yes, they are old satellite images.
But if you actually try a search on the Virtual Earth site for
Apple at that location it finds them easily. A poor kind of
conspiracy by any standard.
Wait, looking at the Microsoft Campus on Virtual Earth I see
empty spaces where there should be buildings. Maybe there is
some dark internecine struggle between divisions and they
resorted to tactical nukes to wipe out the other divisions.
Or maybe it’s just old satellite images.
OK, mapostate, you’ve got a good point. I’ll give MSN the benefit of the doubt and reclassify this as “fun” instead of “rants & raves.”
