Art, just remember we paid for Medicare, all these years, we were promised it, but we paid lots of taxes towards it. I had a total ankle replacement last Jan, and my out of pocket expenses were not much. not zero, but almost. hope she recovers soon & w/o any complications. take care, Gerry Huser

Gerry,
You are absolutely right. The we-all-paid and we-all-benefit is what makes this socialized medicine.
Thanks for the well wishes. So far so good on the recovery.

I hope Candy recovers well and is as happy as I have been. I needed cataract surgery early at about age 55. I paid an additional $7,200.00 for the top of the line lenses. I paid that so I can work till 70 and see all my anesthesia monitors and write in a darkened room, which is frequently necessary. No glasses or contacts. Wake up seeing clearly. Drive at night no problem. My insurance would have paid for most of the basic lenses. Don’t worry Medicare, you’ll pay for my total knee when I’m eligible!!!
In the meantime, get well Candy and HAPPY HANUKKAH!!!!!!!

Thanks, Ruth. I’m glad that your lenses are working so well for you. Candy considered those and, after talking with her doc, decided to go with the regular lenses. She had previously tried monovision contacts and did not like them.
Merry Christmas to you 🙂
