Candy and I have been watching the first season of Star Trek from Netflix. It’s great fun to see it large on the projector, and in color. Whoo hoo! David thought that Candy and I had completely lost it when we started humming along to the theme music during the opening credits:
do do
do do do
do DO dooooooo
Last night, I had a dream. (Sorry, Gentle Reader, I couldn’t resist.) I dreamed that I was visiting someone’s home or office and that they had a big, fancy, thoroughly modern computer. The computer was so modern that it had been upgraded many times. It had the latest do-dads and thing-a-ma-jigs and lots of blinking lights. Lights are important. Lights tell you that you are looking at a computer and that it’s Doing Something. The computer filled the whole room.
I was disturbed, even in the dream, to see “baby pictures” of the computer on the walls. The owner had hung framed photographs and sales brochures from when the machine was first installed. Even in my dream, I thought this was weird.
Maybe I should not watch so much TV, even if it is large and in color. Maybe they were right: too much TV will rot your brain.
