The EAA says that AirVenture 2006 was about 10% smaller than AirVenture 2005 but it was plenty big enough for me. I walked my legs off and came home with a smile permanently embedded in my face.
- Along with my plane, about 10,000 aircraft flew into Oshkosh Wittman Regional Airport and the other airports in east-central Wisconsin. (Craig VanderKolk shot this great picture of the “North 40” and I found it in the AirVenture photo gallery.)
- About 2,310 showplanes showed up, including 852 homebuilt aircraft, 798 vintage airplanes, 387 warbirds, 130 ultralights, 121 seaplanes, and 22 rotorcraft.
- More than 1,704 people visited from foreign countries with the most coming from Canada (407), Australia (218) and South Africa (176).
- 812 companies displayed their wares.
EAA AirVenture 2007 is set for July 23 through 29 next year. Will I see you there? [Leave your response]
