My friend Alyce (I hope she doesn’t mind if I call her that, since we have never met, but we have talked on the phone so much and exchanged so much email, that I think of her as as friend almost as much as I think of her as a client) wrote something interesting on her blog entry News on Sixes, "One of the things I like best about the Enneagram is that it explains to me why certain things are so important to me." She had lots more to say, too, which piqued my interest.
Being basically cynical and cheap, I poked around on the internet for some free resources which would explain enneagrams and ran across the enneagram section of the Awakenings site, "Simple solutions for life’s problems." I certainly cannot claim to be an enneagram expert but what I read makes sense and this looks like something I need to learn more about.
Oh… in case you are curious… I think that I am a type seven.

I think of you as a friend also, Art, even though we’ve never met! You’ve certainly been of huge help to me with my websites over the years. Some of the online tests about the Enneagram are more accurate than others, and I suspect you’re a Five actually, most computer people are, and especially those who describe themselves as “cynical and cheap”! But a Five picks up some qualities of Seven when he’s under stress, so that may be why that looked so familiar to you. Most Sevens wouldn’t be able to stand sitting in front of a computer for that many hours, while for most Fives, computer work is heaven!
