Candy and I drove to Perryville, MO to see the solar eclipse on April 8. My cousin, Melanie, and her husband, Norm, had come down from Wisconsin. The four of us made an outing of it. To make a long story short, the traffic made a short drive long. We left the house at about 9:30am and got home 11 hours later. Quite the adventure for a 200 mile round-trip excursion!
But oh was it worthwhile! Not only did we picnic like royalty but we got to see the totality in all its glory. And I got the photos that I had hoped for. (You can click on these to see them larger.)
Seeing a total solar eclipse is ten thousand times better than seeing a partial one. The next time an eclipse rolls around, try to get to a place where to can experience the totality. It will be amazing.
