The local mayor wants a raise. That got me thinking: he’s been in office only about a year and we really don’t know how well the stuff his is doing will pan out. Isn’t it a little premature to give him a raise? On the other hand, if he does a great job, shouldn’t he be properly rewarded for his contributions to the city?

Give a listen to my second podcast in which I propose a new mechanism for compensating our elected officials.

Here it is, my first podcast. I created this with an MXL 990 microphone, a Peavey PV 6 mixer, and the Audacity sound editor running on Ubuntu Linux. I hope you like it and want to hear more. The easiest way to keep up with future podcasts is to add the feed to your music software, iTunes or Rhythmbox or whatever you prefer. The feed is http://cheerfulcurmudgeon.com/?feed=podcast <strike>http://cheerfulcurmudgeon.com/feed/ (yes, it is really the same as the rest of this blog)</strike>; just drop it in and you should automatically get any new podcasts.

The intro and outro music is Of Wombats and Other Small Creatures by Fugue State. It’s on their Dog Days EP album.
